We have reviewed some of the best wedge pillows to make it easier for you to select a perfect one. We based our decision on the medical benefits the wedge pillow provides, along with the comfort of its material and the value for money.
A couple of years ago I went to visit my mother. It was all jolly in her life except one thing: my father’s snoring. She said it was getting out of hand.
Not knowing what to do about it immediately, I just coincidentally stumbled upon some posts on Facebook that said that you can get a pillow wedge for your bed if you want to stop snoring.
So I decided to read some reviews for wedge pillows that people used for reducing their snoring.
My first instinct was to google ‘’Wedge Pillow Amazon’’ and see where that took me. I mostly saw customer satisfaction so I decided to get one for my dad. If you don’t like shopping online you can easily get a wedge pillow from Target as well!
Three words. Best Decision Ever.
He loved it. Still, raves about it every single time we talk. His snoring all but stopped completely, he no longer feels his allergies acting up in the middle of the night and can totally sleep right after a good, hearty meal without going through acid reflux.
It was evident that there is more to these wedge pillows than just what I’ve mentioned, so I decided to do a more detailed review.
Turns out that wedge pillows for sleeping purposes are mainly used by people with medical issues like acid reflux or heartburn and other annoying issues like snoring. They also help with other problems like Post-op recovery. Here are some of these benefits:
Medical Benefits of Wedge Pillows:
Wedge Pillow For Snoring:
The shape of the wedge pillow keeps your head elevated. This makes you sleep in such a way that your respiratory pathway is totally unobstructed. That is why you keep yourself from snoring.
Wedge Pillow For Acid Reflux:
When you sleep in a neutral, supine position, acid from your stomach can ride up your esophagus. When you sleep in a slightly elevated position on a wedge pillow, gravity helps in keeping the acid down so you no longer feel the symptoms of acid reflux.
Wedge Pillow For GERD:
GERD is basically an advanced form of acid reflux and it results in heartburn. The logic of why wedge pillows are helpful for GERD is the same as why wedge pillows are helpful for acid reflux.
Wedge Pillow For Back Pain:
Wedge pillows for back pain help in keeping your spine erect and therefore provide good lumbar support.
Wedge Pillow For Legs:
There are special wedge pillows for elevating the legs as well. The either come as flat-top wedges or in an isosceles triangle shape.
Other than all of this, wedge pillows are also commonly used in post-op recovery, improving blood circulation, sleep apnea, and relieving pain in herniated discs.
Types Of Bed Wedge Pillows:
I even went on to discover that there are different types of wedge pillows. There are under-mattress wedge pillows, memory foam wedge pillows and wedge pillows that come in different shapes like a flat-top.
They even come in different heights and angles of elevation to give you the kind of comfort that you like.

Reviews Of The Best Amazon Wedge Pillow
After carefully reviewing each bed wedge pillow, we have decided to detail each review for you so you can purchase the best wedge pillow:
InteVision Foam Wedge Bed Pillow
Claims and General Information: It has a two-layer design which comes with a 1” memory foam layer on the top.
The pillow is said to help with the relief of acid-reflux, snoring, allergies, breathing problems, poor blood circulation, and lumbar and cervical problems.
It comes with a white cover that is machine washable.
The dimensions of this pillow are 25’’x24’’x12’’ and it weighs around 4.7 lbs.
We can say with pride that this pillow has been effectively been able to stop snoring. If that’s your main purpose, you should totally go for it.
Acid-reflux sufferers also found good relief when using this pillow wedge. Even people who suffer from allergies found this to be very helpful.
Unfortunately, the pillow does not provide good back and neck support.
One recurring complaint we found was that not everyone who purchases this pillow gets it with a pillow cover, and looking up specific covers for wedge pillows is not an easy job so that is kind of a pain.
The memory foam layer on top of the pillow is good for countering the hard, resilient layer underneath. So the pillow is soft enough for most people to use.
Overall, the pillow is quite affordable.
- Good for snoring and acid reflux
- Not everyone gets a cover
- Not good for cervical and lumbar support
PharMeDoc Bed Wedge Pillow
Claims and General Information:
According to the manufacturer, this wedge pillow is good enough to alleviate heartburn, reduce snoring, improve blood circulation and provides good leg support.
The pillow comes with a machine washable, hypoallergenic case.
The manufacturers claim that the pillow is very durable and will last a couple of years easily.
Its dimensions are 25’’x24’’x12’’ and it weighs around 5 lbs.
Okay, let’s start with what we are sure this pillow works well for Acid reflux, post-op recovery, and snoring. Along with all this, it also provides really good back support.
The manufacturers claim that the pillow is 12’’ high. When measured, it comes around 9’’. That is something we would be angry about – if we faced any problem. Turns out, 9’’ is perfectly fine elevation; it is actually comfortable for most people.
Unfortunately, if you are short, like 5’2’’ or below, the elevation won’t be too comfortable for you.
Other than that, the pillow is not very soft. Some might equate it to sleeping on a brick.
The pillow is still quite affordable so that’s a definite plus.
- Good elevation
- Good for snoring, acid reflux and back support.
- Not a soft pillow
- The elevation is steep for short people
BedWedge, Fit Plus Premium Wedge Pillow
Claims and General Information:
This wedge pillow also has a 1.5’’memory foam layer on top.
The manufacturers say that the pillow does not have a steep slope, so it provides maximum comfort.
They claim that it is optimum for alleviating snoring and acid-reflux symptoms.
It comes with a washable cover.
The manufacturers provide a 2-year warranty as well, in case something goes wrong.
The pillow measures 28’’x24’’x7.5’’ and weighs about 4.6 lbs.
As with the other wedge pillows, here are the medical benefits of this pillow that we reviewed: Works for sinus, acid reflux and heartburn.
Most people found this pillow to be really comfortable. This is because the elevation of the pillow is not too high (you can stack it on other pillows to make it higher), the angle of elevation is not steep at all and the pillow is actually very soft because of the memory foam layer.
Despite all those positive effects, this pillow isn’t good for you if you’re a side sleeper. You would either be really uncomfortable or slide down.
The pillow is not expensive and gives really good value for money.
- Good for snoring and acid reflux, like the manufacturers, claimed.
- Not steep or too high
- Not good for side sleepers

The medical benefits you get with this wedge pillow include relief from symptoms of herniated discs, back pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), acid reflux and the usual; snoring.
The pillow is very durable. It will retain its shape and textures for years. So it’s a smart purchase.
You may find the pillow to be a bit hard for your liking. You need to break it out a little but it remains pretty hard throughout its use.
The pillow is also not good for post-operative recovery. You will be really uncomfortable and you won’t get the necessary elevation either. So for post-op use, just skip this pillow.
Overall, the pillow is very affordable.
- Has a lot of medical benefits
- Quite hard
- Not good for post-op use.
